Salesdamus builds forecasting tools: a free web forecaster at salesdamus.com/forecast and an inventory planning app for Shopify. This policy explains what each of them does with data. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The web forecaster: your numbers stay in your browser

The forecaster runs entirely in your browser. The sales figures you paste, import or type are processed on your own device by JavaScript and are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. There is no account, no login, and no server-side storage of your figures. Closing the tab discards them.

Exports (CSV, PNG, printed reports) are generated locally and saved by your own browser. The share link feature encodes a few summary numbers — the headline forecast and its interval — into the URL you choose to share; nothing is shared unless you press the button and send that link yourself.

What the website does collect

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages get used and which features get pressed. This does involve cookies and does send data to Google. It collects things like:

• pages visited, referring site, approximate location (country/city level)
• device, browser and screen size
• which features were used — for example that a forecast was calculated, or a CSV exported, along with counts such as the number of periods

These event counts deliberately exclude your actual data: we record that a forecast happened, never the sales figures behind it. Google's handling of what it receives is governed by its own privacy policy. If you would rather not be counted, any browser-level tracking blocker will stop it, and the tools will keep working exactly the same.

Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard web request data (including IP address) to serve the site and protect it from abuse.

The Shopify app

The Shopify inventory planning app is in development and not yet released. When it is, it will work as follows.

With your permission at install time, it reads:

• order history — to measure how fast products sell
• products and variants — names, SKUs, vendors
• inventory levels — to work out how long stock will last

It requests only those permissions. It does not request, read or store customer names, addresses, emails or payment details — forecasting demand needs quantities and dates, not the people behind them.

What we store is a daily aggregate — units sold per product per day — plus your settings and the resulting forecasts, in a Cloudflare D1 database. Raw orders are not retained.

If you uninstall the app, Shopify notifies us and your shop's data is deleted. We also honour Shopify's mandatory data request, customer redaction and shop redaction webhooks.

Who else is involved

• Cloudflare — hosting, and the database for the Shopify app
• Google Analytics — website usage statistics
• Shopify — for the app, the source of the store data you authorise

We do not sell data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — the GDPR in Europe, the CCPA in California and similar laws elsewhere — you can ask what data relates to you, ask for a copy, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to processing. For the web forecaster the answer is usually short, because your figures were never sent to us in the first place. For the Shopify app, uninstalling triggers deletion automatically, and you can also ask directly.

Children

These are business tools and are not directed at children under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes affecting the Shopify app will be communicated to installed merchants.
